Weapons: Shocking but Hilarious

“A horror masterpiece that will have your mind racing.” – Linda Cook.

Zach Cregger’s Weapons is a massive hit in the box office for good reason. I unexpectedly had such a fun time with it while not being the biggest horror movie fan.

Visuals: While not having the most consistent cinematography, I think Weapons does a good enough job all throughout, putting the main focus on its compelling story instead. That’s not without saying that there aren’t some terrifying frames from this flick.

Characters: The structural element of this movie is fascinating, separating the movie into six chapters, focusing on a different character every chapter. It’s so rewarding to see all of these stories connect at the end, figuring out how all of these vastly different people are at anyway related to each other in terms of the story.

Plot: Weapons’ plot is a chilling mystery that has you on the edge of your seat all throughout, but it has its funny moments too. The tension of the storyline, mixed in with the occasional jumpscare or gruesome imagery makes Weapons a modern day work of art in the horror genre.
